1. Bronzeville Collective anniversary sale: Tuesday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 9 

Bronzeville Collective is celebrating its fourth anniversary with weeklong sales, vendor pop-ups and shop and sips. The celebration starts on Tuesday, Oct. 4 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 9 at the Bronzeville Collective, located at 339 W. 2. Rain barrel workshop: Tuesday, Oct. 4 

Learn how to properly install and maintain a rain barrel, which helps capture rainwater from your roof for later use. The workshop takes place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Washington Park Library branch, located at 2121 N. Sherman Blvd. Each participant will receive a free barrel. Register here

3. Help set health policy for the next five years: Wednesday, Oct. 5 

The Milwaukee Health Department is drafting its next Community Health Improvement Plan, which will help set the city’s health policy for the next five years. You can give feedback on the plan for 2023-’28 during four sessions. The first meeting will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 on the fifth floor of the Zilber School of Public Health, located at 1240 N. 10th St.

4. Brown bag lunch with archivists: Wednesday, Oct. 5 

Staff archivists at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society Museum will discuss the process of archiving from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 2620 W. Center St. Register for free here

5. Deadline to nominate best landscaping in 6th Aldermanic District: Friday, Oct. 7 

If you or someone you know lives in the 6th Aldermanic District and has a well-landscaped or otherwise exceptional yard or garden, consider nominating them for an award. To submit a nominee, email their name, address and photo of the property to mcoggs@milwaukee.gov by the close of business of Friday, Oct. 7.

BONUS: IT job fair:  Tuesday, Oct. 4
