1. Silver City International Festival: Saturday, Sept. 9
VIA Community Development Corporation hosts the 12th annual Silver City International Festival on Saturday, Sept. 9 from noon to 5 p.m. This free event celebrates the culture and diversity of the Silver City neighborhood. It will take place on West National Avenue between 33rd and 35th streets. Come and enjoy the food and other festivities. More information here.
2. Near West Side Week: Sunday, Sept, 10
Near West Side Week begins Sunday, Sept. 10 and goes through Saturday, Sept. 16. Each day will consist of activities for residents and others. Some activities are free and others require payment. 3. Clothing Swap: Sunday, Sept. 10
Kidical Mass MKE, an organization that promotes safe bike riding, will host a clothing swap for kids and adults on Sunday, Sept. 10 at Riverwest Farmers Market between North Pierce and East Center streets. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individuals are encouraged to bring clothes to swap. Any remaining clothes will be donated to charity. More information here.
4. Bembe Bombazo: Sunday, Sept. 10
Bembè Drum & Dance will present an Afro-Latino performing arts program on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Zócalo Food Truck Park, 636 S. 6th St. Come enjoy singing, dancing and learning the tradition of this culture. More information here.
5. Fall Kickoff: Sunday, Sept. 10
Epikos Church is having a fall kickoff gathering on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Sherman Park, 3737 N. Sherman Blvd. Come for food, fellowshipping, a bounce house, and more. More information here.
