COA Youth & Family Centers held its Family of the Year fundraising luncheon last month at the Italian Community Center and recognized two Milwaukee families for making a difference in our communities.
The Lorenzya Polnitz Family
Lorenzya Polnitz was first introduced to COA in 2019 as a guest at the Gill Family Resource Center food pantry. Wanting to get more involved, she began working for the pantry and played an essential role in continuing services during the pandemic.
She now serves as the director of community programs and services at the Goldin Center and one of her duties includes managing the food pantry she once used.
Goldin Family
Beginning with Mel and Leila Joy Goldin, four generations of the Goldin family have supported COA’s mission. In 2005, COA’s facility on West Burleigh Street was dedicated to Leila Joy and now serves over 1,000 families every year.
