1. Voting Assistance: Monday, Jan. 29

From 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County will be at the Milwaukee Public Library Zablocki Branch, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave., to help you register to vote and learn more about how the voting process works. More information here.

2. Garden Homes Meeting and Dinner: Monday, Jan. 29

The 30th Street Corridor has restored 24 homes in the Garden Homes neighborhood, 11 of which are historic homes. You’re invited to welcome the new residents from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2433 W. Roosevelt Drive. Dinner will be served. 3. Celebrating Our Shared Roots Art Exhibit: Now through Feb. 23

Latino Arts is showcasing an exhibit with art from Mexico and First Nation Tribes from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 23 at 1028 S. Ninth St. The exhibit is free and open to the public. A $1 donation is encouraged. More information here.

4. Karaoke Wednesday: Wednesday, Jan. 31

Join VIPMKE and Pepperpot on MLK for its weekly karaoke night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 2215 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. It will be a night filled with music and Jamaican food available for purchase. Entry is free. More information here.

5. “Phobruary”: Thursday, Feb. 1

Beginning Thursday, Feb. 1, VIA Community Development Corp. will be celebrating its 11th annual “Phobruary.” Milwaukee residents are encouraged  to support restaurants in the Silver City neighborhood by purchasing a Vietnamese dish called Pho. Each location will have a QR code to scan for a giveaway. Up to six winners can win a $25 gift card.
