1. Art Exhibit at Urban Ecology Center: Friday, March 8
An art exhibition titled “Biohazards: Cosmetics Out of Context” will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 8 at the Urban Ecology Center, 3700 W. Pierce St. The exhibition will feature paintings and sculptures crafted by Madelynn Austin. Entry is free and open to everyone. Click here to register. More information here.
2. Harambee Annual Meeting: Saturday, March 9
The Harambee neighborhood will have its annual meeting from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the Clinton Rose Senior Center, 3045 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Residents will hear neighborhood updates, receive resources and vote for the Neighborhood Improvement District Board of Directors. More information here.
3. Harriet Tubman Day: Saturday, March 9
In honor of Harriet Tubman’s legacy, Nearby Nature Milwaukee will host a series of activities, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Harriet Tubman Park at 4750 N. 48th St. Attendees can take a hike, eat together and discuss climate justice. 4. Latino Carnaval: Sunday, March 10
Bembé Drum & Dance will hold its annual Latino Carnaval Celebration from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at Mitchell Street Arts, 710 W. 5. Afro- Caribbean Dance Class: Sunday, March 10
Juanibi Wellness will host an Afro-Caribbean dance class at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at 800 W. Walnut St. This $5 class encourages self- expression, healing, and more through dance. More information here.
Bonus: Intergenerational Community Women’s Day: Saturday, March 16
The Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will host a Community Talk Back and Stakeholders Meeting for women and girls ages 9 and up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at Epikos Church – Sherman Park, 3737 N. Sherman Blvd. This event will feature painting, cooking demonstrations and more. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and is required. More information here.
