1. 23rd Annual Back-to-School Health Fair: Saturday, Aug. 10
The City of Milwaukee Health Department will host its 23rd annual back-to-school health fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Milwaukee Academy of Science, 2000 W. Kilbourn Ave. Children will receive free school supplies, immunizations, food and more. More information here.
2. Community Dance Workshop: Saturday, Aug. 10
Artist Pablo Guerreiro will lead a Brazilian Samba dance workshop from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Casa Cultural de Bembé, 611 S. Layton Blvd. This event is open to individuals 18 and older. Click here to register and purchase a $25 ticket. More information here.
3. Back-to-School Festival: Saturday, Aug. 10
Families are invited to a book bag giveaway with free school supplies from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at King Park, 1531 W. Vliet St. Other activities include bounce houses, food, a talent show and more. More information here.
4. Teen Movie Night: Saturday, Aug. 10
Milwaukee Central Library will host a movie night for teens to celebrate summer reading. Teens can watch “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 814 W. Wisconsin Ave. More information here.
5. Bembé Bombazo at Zócalo Food Truck Park: Sunday, Aug. 11
Bembé Drum & Dance invites you to an evening filled with singing, dancing and drumming, featuring Afro-Puerto Rican traditions. This free community event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Zócalo Food Truck Park, 636 S. Sixth St. More information here.
