1. Employ Milwaukee Resource Table: Monday, Oct. 7
Employ Milwaukee will be at the Milwaukee Public Library Atkinson Branch to share information about employment opportunities, paid training programs and more. Representatives will be available from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7 at 1960 W. Atkinson Ave. More information here.
2. Celebrate Recovery Group: Monday, Oct. 7
City of Light Church invites community members to express themselves in a safe space from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7 at 6725 W. Burleigh St. This will be a chance to celebrate the things you have overcome and share your stories. More information here.
3. Food for Thought Poetry Night: Tuesday, Oct. 8
Attend a poetry open mic night on Tuesdays at Mi Casa Su Cafe, 1835 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The next one will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Tickets are $5 and seating is first come, first served. The event will feature open mic, poets, local vendors, soul food and more. Performing artists will need to sign up upon arrival. 4. Candela Wednesdays: Wednesday, Oct. 9
Every Wednesday, Daync Academy hosts a Latin night that’s free and open to the public. You can salsa, bachata and more from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 636 S. Sixth St. More information here.
5. Vinyl Vibes Wednesdays: Wednesday, Oct. 9
Bring your favorite vinyl records to play from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Indeed Brewing Co., 530 S. Second St., and receive $2 off your first beer. More information here.
Bonus: Hope Harvest: Thursday, Oct. 10
Hope House is a nonprofit that works to combat housing insecurity in Milwaukee. Join Hope House for a brief program, autumn refreshments and tours of its St. Catherine of Hope Residence from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 1032 E. Knapp St. More information here.
