1. Jam House: Friday, Nov. 8
Gig Simulator and Arts @ Large Inc. will host a youth open mic called “Jam House” from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at 1100 S. Fifth St. Students will be able to showcase their musical talents, such as singing or playing an instrument. More information here.
2. Feed Your Brother: Friday, Nov. 8
Every Friday, Ministreets-Christian Urban Outreach Mission provides food and other necessities to homeless people on Milwaukee’s South Side. Its next meet-up is at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at 2677 S. 16th St. Volunteers are welcome. More information here.
3. Crafternoon: Friday, Nov. 8
Children ages 6 to 12 can spend the afternoon doing arts and crafts from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Milwaukee Public Library Atkinson Branch, 1960 W. Atkinson Ave. Art supplies will be provided. More information here.
4. 2024 Financial Education Series: Saturday, Nov. 9
If you are interested in buying your first home, VIA Community Development Corp. offers homeownership workshops to assist you. The next workshop is from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 4319 W. National Ave. Registration is required. More information here.
5. Suds and Bubbles Maker’s Market: Saturday, Nov. 9
Shop with local vendors in the Walker’s Point neighborhood at the “Suds and Bubbles Maker’s Market” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 708 W. Pierce St. More information here.
