It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Techquity Free Laptop Giveaway: Friday, Dec. 13 

Community members , 18 and up, can receive a free laptop at a distribution event hosted by Techquity. The free laptop giveaway will take place from  9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at 200 W. Pleasant St.  Bring an ID to be admitted. More information here.

2. Milwaukee Justice Center Mobile Legal Clinic: Friday, Dec. 13 

Receive legal advice from the Milwaukee Justice Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. The league can provide help with legal issues, including landlord/tenant issues, evictions, small claims and more. Advice will not be provided for open or pending criminal cases. More information here.

3. PEAK Alumni Holiday Gathering: Friday, Dec. 13

PEAK Initiative invites its alumni to a holiday gathering from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at 636 S. Sixth St. There will be a photo booth, raffle and more. 4. BlOC’s Black Out Gala: Friday, Dec. 13

Black Leaders Organizing for Communities will host its fifth annual Black Out Gala on Friday, Dec. 13 at 1037 W. McKinley Ave. Wear your best black, formal attire mixed with your favorite color. There will be food, dancing and a chance for you to hear highlights of the year.  Doors open at 6 p.m. Program starts at 7:15 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. 5. Kids’ Breakfast with Santa: Saturday, Dec. 14

Free breakfast with Santa will be served to the first 200 kids, age 12 and under, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 1531 W. Vliet St. Free toys will also be given out. Children must be accompanied by an adult. More information here.

Bonus: ¡Fiesta Navideña!: Saturday, Dec. 14

Join Bembè Drum & Dance for its annual “¡Fiesta Navideña!” holiday celebration from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 611 S. Layton Blvd. The free event will feature special performances by Bembè Academy youth, teen and adult students, a family-style parranda, musical guests and more.
