1. Free toy distribution: Monday, Jan. 6

Noticias Wisconsin, Shirtz Pleaze, El Conquistador and other organizations are collaborating to distribute free toys to children from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 6 at 835 W. National Ave. Toys are limited and will be handed out as community members arrive. More information here.

2. Monthly Men’s Forum: Wednesday, Jan. 8

Table of Saints Inc. invites men to its monthly forum at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 2821 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave. The forum is meant to provide a safe place for men to discuss hard topics and share a meal. More information here.

3. Community Gathering: Wednesday, Jan. 8

January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center will be hosting a community gathering that will offer training on trafficking from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 930 W. Historic Mitchell St. Food and supplies will be provided. More information here.

4. Women’s Wellness Wednesdays: Wednesday, Jan. 8

The Dominican Center will be hosting wellness Wednesdays for women of all ages to come learn to support and encourage each other through. The first session will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 2470 W. Locust St. Food will be provided. More information here.

5. Mobile Food Pantry: Thursday, Jan. 9

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin will host a mobile food pantry from 2:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9 at Auer Avenue School, 2319 W. Auer Ave. Guests will receive a box filled with meat and produce. More information here.

BONUS: Virtual Meeting on West Side Area Plan Update: Wednesday, Jan. 8

The Department of City Development is hosting a virtual community meeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 about the West Side Area Plan Update.

Originally completed in 2009, the West Side Area Plan will be updated to reflect today’s conditions and to provide a roadmap for the future. Registration is required.
