It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Healthy Plates, Healthy Minds: Monday, Jan. 27

Rooted & Rising invites community members to an evening of diving into mental wellness and healthy eating options. A nutritionist will be present to help you prepare a dish and a mental health professional will provide you with tips to maintain a healthy mind. Individuals who attend will receive a free cookbook and have the chance to win a slow cooker. This will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27 at 3940 W. Lisbon Ave. More information here.

2. Manga and Graphic Novel Book Club: Monday, Jan. 27

If you love to read manga and graphic novels, you can join other readers with similar interests from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27 at the Milwaukee Public Library Washington Park Branch, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd. You will discuss some of your favorite books, play games and more. More information here.

3. Tech Tuesdays: Tuesday, Jan. 28

You can join Your Move MKE Inc. in its “Tech Tuesdays” sessions that are held each week for those interested in beat production, graphic designing and more. The next session is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 1107 W. Historic Mitchell St. More information here.

4. Women’s Wellness Wednesdays: Wednesday, Jan. 29

The Dominican Center will be hosting wellness Wednesdays for women of all ages to come learn to support and encourage each other through wellness activities. The first session will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 2470 W. Locust St. Food will be provided. More information here.

5. Women’s Gathering: Wednesday, Jan. 29

Circles of Strength is a program that offers a space and provides services for individuals who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault and more. A women’s gathering will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center, 930 W. Historic Mitchell St. Women will learn about what stalking is and how to protect themselves. Dinner will also be provided. To pre-register,  text 414-640-1062 or feel free to walk in.
