It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Learn the Tamia Line Dance: Tuesday, Feb. 4

If you are someone interested in learning the Tamia line dance, a session will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 3020 W. Vliet St. You will learn each step of the dance until everyone is capable of doing it. Entry into this session is $10. More information here.

2. Tech-splanation: Tuesday, Feb. 4

If you’re an older adult who struggles with using your smartphone, tablet or other electronic device or need help accessing library resources, a librarian will be available to answer your questions. Feel free to bring your device from 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Milwaukee Public Library Villard Square Branch, 5190 N. 35th St. More information here.

3. Crime and Safety Meeting: Wednesday, Feb. 5

Milwaukee Police Department District 5 will hold its crime and safety meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 912 W. Center St.  You can listen to crime updates for the neighborhood and ask officers questions. More information here.

4. Mastering the Numbers Workshop: Thursday, Feb. 6

Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp. invites entrepreneurs to a free workshop about making confident decisions in business finances. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 636 S. Sixth St. Registration is required.  More information here.

5.Phobruary’: Through Friday, Feb. 28

VIA Community Development Corporation will be celebrating its 12th annual “Phobruary” beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4 through Friday, Feb. 28. Milwaukee residents are encouraged  to support local businesses in the Silver City neighborhood by purchasing a Vietnamese dish called pho.
