1. Friday Night Breakdown: Friday, Feb. 28
Children and adults are welcome to participate in a breakdance competition hosted by Ill Threadz MKE. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 at 5335 W. Oklahoma Ave. You can win up to $300 and additional prizes. The cost is $5 to sign up. More information here.
2. Skin, Hair and Nail Screening: Saturday, March 1
Gee’s MKE Wellness Clinic and Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin are partnering to host free screenings for hair, skin and nails. Dermatologists will be present from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at 2200 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to assist you. More information here.
3. Plan Your Summer Vegetable Garden: Saturday, March 1
Eco Families Sustainability Learning Group is hosting a hands-on workshop that will help you plan a summer garden. You will learn how to choose what plants to grow, plant care schedules and more. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1 at The Table, 5305 W. Capitol Drive. More information here.
4. Sunday Open Mic at Zócalo: Sunday, March 2
All ages are welcome to showcase your talent during an open mic hosted by Tlalok Rodriguez from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 2 at 636 S. Sixth St. More information here.
5. DIY Marbling: Sunday, March 2
American Science & Surplus invites children of all ages to participate in arts and crafts from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 2 at 6901 W. Oklahoma Ave. There will be shaving cream, card stock paper and food coloring for children to use. More information here.
