It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Science Strikes Back: Friday, March 14

Escuela Verde Milwaukee and TransCenter for Youth are partnering to bring the community together in creating  science projects that address environmental challenges. Presentation day will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14 at 3628 W. Pierce St. Registration is required. More information here.

2. Town Hall: Saturday, March 15

A town hall meeting in the Walnut Way neighborhood  will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 at Milwaukee College Prep, 1350 W. North Ave. It will feature the Neighborhood Improvement District 12 re-elections, housing resources and food. More information here.

3. Sankofa Drum Circle: Saturday, March 15

Every third Saturday, the Center for Leadership of Afrikan Women’s Wellness hosts Sankofa Drum Circle. The next session is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 at 3910 W. Lisbon Ave. Individuals can borrow or bring their own drums to participate. You can even come to dance as this event is all about rhythm and reconnecting with ancestors. All skill levels are welcome. 4. Style Pop Cafe’s Grand Opening: Saturday, March 15

A grand opening for Style Pop Cafe will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 at 934 S. Fifth St. There will be a live DJ, a cafe tour, raffles and  menu deals. The first 40 guests to arrive will receive a free sticker. More information here.

5. Coffee with a Cop: Saturday, March 15

Community members are welcome to have coffee with a cop from the Milwaukee Police Department District 6 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at 3062 S. 13th St. You can have a discussion on what’s happening in the community. More information here.
