A wonderful benefit of living independently in a senior living community is the camaraderie that can occur when we share concerns and support each other in expressing those concerns. A group of Concerned Citizens who reside in a Milwaukee senior living community meets regularly to discuss concerns, share resources and possible actions, and reach out to share concerns with our neighbors in the larger community or, perhaps, just passing through.
Expressing our apprehensions regarding losses of funding to our health coverage programs, the public media that many of us rely on, threats to our constitution, threats to the human rights of any persons in our country, and to our rights as citizens, has been for months now a regular part of our routine when we meet, carrying our signs expressing our individual anxieties and worries in this time of political tensions.
We invite others to feel free to join us in this invigorating and positive activity, every Saturday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. (but stay longer if you wish), along Downer Avenue between Bradford Avenue and north Lake Drive.
