MILWAUKEE, WIS. — Wellpoint Care Network is proud to announce a new partnership with UMOS, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families meet their basic needs and dream of a better life for themselves and their families. Together, the organizations are deepening their shared commitment to serving families across Milwaukee’s north side by expanding access to essential resources.

This partnership is already making an impact through monthly diaper and food pantry pop-ups hosted on Wellpoint Care Network’s campus. These events are designed to provide families with free diapers and food, as well as connections to vital community resources, all in one place.

In just the first three months, the initiative has supported approximately 191 families, distributing more than 10,173 pounds of food. Beyond basic needs, families have also been connected to critical support services, including energy assistance, rental & mortgage assistance and behavioral health referrals.

“As we celebrate 175 years of service to the community, this partnership reflects our continued commitment as a trusted resource for families across Milwaukee,” said Reggie Newson, Wellpoint Care Network President and CEO. “Together with UMOS, we are expanding our reach and impact across the city, including Milwaukee’s north side, ensuring more families have the support they need to thrive.”

As part of the partnership, UMOS has established an on-site presence within Wellpoint Care Network’s 18-acre campus, meeting directly with clients to seamlessly integrate services.

“At UMOS, we hold that access to essential services is a fundamental right for every child, individual and family,” said Jose Martinez, UMOS President and CEO. “As a community-rooted organization, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support — from food and rent assistance to health and behavioral health services — so that every person has the opportunity to achieve stability and long-term success. Our coordinated service delivery with Wellpoint Care Network creates a seamless network of care that removes barriers, expands access and empowers families to build brighter, healthier futures.”

In addition, the partnership prioritizes expanding access to mental health services for underserved populations. Through this collaboration, individuals who are uninsured or face barriers to care will have increased access to screenings and free mental health services if eligible.

This partnership aligns with Wellpoint Care Network’s vision of becoming a community hub that fosters connection, healing and wellness. Together, Wellpoint Care Network and UMOS are working to connect families to essential resources and create opportunities for long-term stability and well-being.
