Milwaukee County residents can now apply in person for federal assistance to help recover from the severe storms, wind and flooding during April 13-23.
The Disaster Recovery Center is located in the lower level of the Northwest Health Center, 7630 W. Mill Road, and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The location is staffed with representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Wisconsin Emergency Management.
Residents can get help or receive updates on applications for FEMA individual assistance and learn about the appeals process.
Appointments are not required.
Other options to apply include visiting DisasterAssistance.gov or the Spanish language DisasterAssistance.gov/es, or calling 800-621-3362.
The deadline to apply for individual assistance is Aug. 31.

Business Recovery Center
Homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofits can ask questions and get assistance from customer service representatives about the application process for SBA’s low-interest disaster loans.
To do so, they can visit the Business Recovery Center inside the Small Business Administration’s District Office at 310 W. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 580W, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
FEMA staff is not present at this location.
Walk-ins are welcome, or residents can schedule an in-person appointment at appointment.sba.gov. Anyone interested in applying can also visit sba.gov/disaster, call the Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
Staff recommend residents bring documentation needed for loan applications with them.
