1. TRUE SKOOL Summer Park Jam Weekend: Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15
Entrepreneurs, designers, artists and creatives can head to the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, 929 N. Water St., for a CEO session on Friday, Aug. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. with doors opening at 11 a.m. On Saturday, Aug. 15 TRUE Skool is hosting a free Summer Park Jam concert at the Peck Pavilion, 125 E. Kilbourn Ave., from noon to 8 p.m. More information here.
2. BBQ and Backpacks: Sunday, Aug. 16
No Matter What A Global Ministry is giving away 100 backpacks and supplies to local students while supplies last at 1615 S. 22nd St. on Sunday, Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information here.
3. We Are Water 2026: Sunday, Aug. 16
The Milwaukee Hittaz drum line is leading a procession featuring the “living river” from the Juneteenth parade, plus art-making, sand castles and a community parachute float at McKinley Beach, 1750 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive, on Sunday, Aug. 16 starting at 5 p.m. More information here.
4. Norwood Neighborhood Day: Sunday, Aug. 16
Celebrate the Norwood neighborhood and bring a dish to pass at 3300 N. 58th St. on Sunday, Aug. 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. Plates are $1 for guests over 12. More information here.
5. 100 Ways to Learn: Sunday, Aug. 16
Rissa Fam is giving away 100 backpacks and school supplies with free food, free ice cream and live music at 6222 W. Fond du Lac Ave. on Sunday, Aug. 16 from 2 to 6 p.m.
