This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Indigenous Biz Con V will celebrate five years of connection, collaboration and Indigenous business leadership! Hosted by Indigenous Business Group, the 5th annual operator-run business gathering is set to take place October 11-13 at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Registration is now open.
The fifth annual Indigenous Biz Con invites Tribal leaders, entrepreneurs, corporate partners, innovators, government agencies, investors and Indigenous-owned businesses to unite under the theme “Indigenous Renaissance” and to cultivate generational wellness, wealth and opportunity by building collaborative ventures between Native-owned businesses and state and corporate partners.
“As the theme suggests, we’re at a pivotal moment in history in which Indigenous businesses are uniquely poised for growth and revival. This event creates space for us to share knowledge, build relationships and create the opportunities that will define the next generation of Indigenous business leadership,” said Indigenous Business Group Co-founder, member of the Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians Rob Pero.
Attendees are invited to start the conference experience with a tour of Indigenous Milwaukee and a Packers-Bears Watch Party & Opening Gathering on October 11.
Then, the event kicks off in earnest on October 12 with an Opening Ceremony hosted by Chance Rush and Rudy Indigenous, greetings from Governor Tony Evers, and an opening keynote speech by actor and activist Gary Farmer, followed by informative sessions on the State of Indigenous Business, Building the Next Generation Economy, Nation Building & Tribal Economic Development featuring the topics of mobile sports betting and prediction, current state of gaming, and more. The evening will bring a cultural celebration featuring Supaman and ceremonial lighting of the Hoan Bridge to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Indigenous visibility in Milwaukee.
On Tuesday, October 13, hear from David Crowley (D) and Tom Tiffany (R), both nominees for the 2026 Wisconsin gubernatorial election. Final day discussions will cover pressing topics like data centers, AI, sustainability, food sovereignty, interconnectedness and building better business and updates on pending legislation for cannabis in Wisconsin. Attendees can also enjoy a featured fireside conversation on Storytelling, Film & the Indigenous Renaissance during which Jhane Myers, Gary Farmer, Anne Marie Gillan and Chance Rush will give viewers an inside look into The 7th, an upcoming action-adventure sci-fi feature film in which a young Lakota girl must fulfill an ancient prophecy to rewild the planet.
The fifth annual Indigenous Biz Con will close with a celebration of Business Pitch Competition winners, special recognitions and final remarks, followed by the Indigenous Business Awards Gala.
