Creativity filled a South Side block on Oct. 3 as residents painted sidewalks with tempera paint, explored new mediums like watercolor and linocut, and visited a mobile media lab with a 3D printer.

The activities were part of the Arts @ Large 25th anniversary celebration at the historic Patrick Cudahy building, 1100 S. 5th St., which is now home to the nonprofit.

Arts @ Large was founded in 2001 to address shrinking arts education opportunities in Milwaukee. The organization partners with schools, educators and teaching artists to expand access to arts education across the city.

Arts @ Large has served thousands of Milwaukeeans through school partnerships, artist residencies and community programming, according to the organization’s impact report.
