1. Movie Night at Clarke Square Park: Friday, Oct. 9

Bring a lawn chair to a free family movie night featuring the movie Goat at Clarke Square Park, 2330 W. Vieau Place, on Friday, Oct. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Light snacks will be provided at the event. More information here.

2. NAMIWalks Southeast Wisconsin: Saturday, Oct. 10

Walk to raise awareness and support for suicide and overdose at NAMIWalks Southeast Wisconsin at the Washington Park Bandshell, 1859 N. 40th St., on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Check-in starts at 8:30, programming begins at 9 and the 1.5-mile walk steps off at 10:45, with speakers, a memorial loop, tai chi, yoga and more. More information here.

3. MPS Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration: Saturday, Oct. 10

See student-made displays on Hispanic innovators at Milwaukee Public Schools’ Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at Bradley Technology and Trade School, 700 S. 4th St., on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. More information here.

4. Milwaukee Out of the Darkness Community Walk: Saturday, Oct. 10

Walk to raise awareness about suicide prevention at the Out of the Darkness Community Walk, hosted by the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center. The walk will kick off at 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive on Saturday, Oct. 10 and runs from noon to 3 p.m. More information here.

5. DIY Tortillas: Saturday, Oct. 10

Make tortillas and quesadillas from scratch at the Cargill Community Kitchen at the Milwaukee Public Library’s Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St., on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. More information here.
