Make a difference in your community while gaining valuable experience! La Casa de Esperanza’s Center for Financial Stability is seeking volunteers and interns for its 2026–2027 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

VITA provides free tax preparation services to low- to moderate-income individuals and families. Volunteers help taxpayers navigate the filing process while gaining practical experience reviewing tax documents, using tax preparation software, and preparing federal and state tax returns.

This opportunity is especially valuable for students studying Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related fields, as well as community members interested in helping others. No previous tax experience is required. Volunteer tax preparers must complete the required VITA certification tests, including Advanced certification.

To learn more about available opportunities, training, and how to participate, contact Yuliana Torres, VITA Site Coordinator, at ytorres@lacasadeesperanza.org.

You can also complete the volunteer application form.

Join us in helping individuals and families access free tax preparation services!
