Milwaukee Public Schools will close all district schools and offices on Friday, Oct. 30 due to the Brewers’ World Series win.

The closure comes in anticipation of the celebratory parade downtown and at the lakefront, which Superintendent Brenda Cassellius said would impact operations and safety.

No classes, before- or after-school activities will take place, Cassellius said in a statement sent to parents via email Tuesday morning.

Milwaukee Recreation events are cancelled, with the exception of high school postseason athletic events.

Cassellius said families and staff will receive direct communication if affected.

Only essential facilities staff will report to work. Cassellius said offices will close and non-essential staff will not work.
