Adult graduates finally get their day in the spotlight
About 225 adult students were honored last week for earning General Educational Development, or GED, certificates, High School Equivalency diplomas and Emerging Scholars diplomas during a special ceremony at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s downtown campus.
Local students struggle after changes to GED test
The number of students who passed their GED tests at Milwaukee’s four main testing sites nose-dived when a new, more challenging test was rolled out in 2014. It has been rising slowly since then, but is still fewer than one-fourth of the total who passed in 2013.
