Safe & Sound employment opportunity

January 8, 2013 by Safe & Sound Leave a Comment

Safe & Sound currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual in the role of Community Partner Organizer. We are seeking to fill two positions, one bi-lingual.

Safe & Sound is a community-based, anti-crime strategy designed to reduce crime and violence. It utilizes the interdependent strategies of positive youth development at Safe Places, neighborhood organizing through the Community Partners, and tough law enforcement through the Milwaukee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). It is a unique, collaborative approach to fighting crime, violence, illegal drug and alcohol sales, and other neighborhood problems. Safe & Sound’s collaborating partners empower youth and adults to work together, creating a better, safer community for all.

Community Partner Organizers are neighborhood mobilizers who conduct outreach and organize residents door-to-door year round, listening to, and addressing, the individual concerns of residents. They recruit youth to attend Safe Places and work with youth leaders to implement community anti-crime initiatives. The Community Partners Program works with residents to organize block watches, building relationships and communication between residents, law enforcement and city services. Organizers develop neighborhood-based initiatives, enhancing safety and reducing crime, positively impacting the community and improving the overall quality of life for residents.

The job description with information about the application process for this exciting opportunity can be found on the Safe & Sound web site at: http://www.safesound.org/about-us/employment/
