Students and staff of Arts @ Large were presented with an enormous facsimile of a check, representing a $25,000 grant, at a recent celebration at the organization’s gallery and café, 908 S. 5th St.

State Farm’s Youth Advisory Board selected Arts @ Large and its Café @ Large program for the grant because of their core goals, said Kelly Savage, community relations specialist for State Farm. The youth-led coffee house aims to give teens skills and experience in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, marketing and business management. Arts @ Large is currently accepting applications for the next group of student baristas.
