This year’s ‘Neighborhood Gems’ featured everything from brand new murals to plant shops, maker markets to a community café.

Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service collaborated with Historic Milwaukee for our second “Neighborhood Gems: Behind the Scenes” digital event, part of Doors Open 2021.

The free digital event featured “lightning round” presentations from seven community projects: Newline Community Café, Maranta Plant Shop, Clarke Square’s new Dolores Huerta mural, Ck Ledesma’s Proyecto Conbíf, Innovations & Wellness Commons: Phase II, Quan Caston’s Chess and Art Academics Club and CirculateMKE.
