It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here.

1. Latin Dance Workshops: Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13

Culture, fun and education come together at these Latin dance workshops led by Karlies Kelley, founder of Panadanza Dance Company. The classes start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12 and 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at Latino Arts, located at 1028 S. 9th St. The cost is $8 per participant. Click here to register.

2. Mental Illness and Our Criminal Justice System: Tuesday, April 12

Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force, Disability Rights Wisconsin and Milwaukee Turners present the third session of “A Look Inside: Mental Illness and Our Criminal Justice System.” This panel discussion covers the planning and discharge process when someone with serious mental illness who has been incarcerated returns to the community. The online discussion runs from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 on Zoom. Register here.

3. “Latino Wisconsin” film screening: Wednesday, April 13

See “Latino Wisconsin,” the award-winning documentary on Latino history and meet film director Georgia Pabst. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at UW-Milwaukee Union Fireside Lounge, located at 2200 E Kenwood Blvd. READ: Documentary tells the story of ‘Latino Wisconsin’

4. Housing Resource Fair: Thursday, April 14

If you are a renter looking to buy a house or a homeowner in need of repairs, stop by this housing resource fair hosted by the Clarke Square Neighborhood Initiative. The event is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at Prince of Peace School, located at 1114 S. 25th St.

5. Ujamaa Business Shower: Thursday, April 14

Get tips on creating a business plan and learn from human resource experts and connect with financial advisers at this first of a three-part series for business owners. This session runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at Ambition Center MKE, located at 530 E. Vienna Ave.
