Harriet Dorsey celebrates 106th birthday
Harriet Dorsey, the oldest resident of Walnut Way, celebrated her 106th birthday this week. State representative Elizabeth Coggs (10th District) joined the party, held at the Clinton Rose Senior Center, 3045 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. In 2006, when Dorsey was 100, she was inducted in the Milwaukee County Senior Hall of Fame, receiving a special “Century of Service Award.” The long-time community volunteer has been called “the Queen Mother of the African American community.”
