Schools committee favors Hopkins for merged Lindsay Heights school facility

About 70 community members, parents and staff from Hopkins Street School succeeded in swaying an MPS board committee to locate a proposed community school at Hopkins rather than nearby Lloyd Street School. The final decision is in the hands of the full school board, which is expected to vote on the matter on March 31.

Hopkins supporters to protest MPS proposal to close school

Community members, teachers and religious leaders are mobilizing to protest the possible closing of Hopkins Street School in Lindsay Heights at the Milwaukee Public School’s Accountability, Finance and Personnel Committee hearing Tuesday. MPS has proposed merging Hopkins and Lloyd Street School at the Lloyd Street site.
